A physician assistant took on a different type of medical practice. Everyday ‘Dr. Joel’ packed up his black bag, stepped outside the exam room, and made ‘house calls’ to homeless residents on the city streets, in camps, and at the library. With media relations, training, speaker promotions, and marketing, the stories of the doctor who hung saline drips on the tree outside the downtown Starbucks spread. A year later, Joel was invited to create a TEDx Talk about his experience and perspectives.
