"Here we honor and remember the people whose lives were cut
decades short. The cause was homelessness.
Each year we say goodbye to 50 of our friends, our mothers, fathers,
sisters, brothers and children. When we remember you, we will think
of your hopes, dreams, strengths and what you taught us about ourselves."
The exhibit is 76 inches tall, representing the expected life span in the United States. The broken front, embedded in concrete, stands at 42, the average age at death of a homeless person.
